Ariadne represents the artist’s first attempt at applying airbrushed liquid graphite onto glass. This high quality handcrafted Liquid graphite is not available in the marketplace, The fine lines of the fabric binding the statuesque figure are all hand engraved, and the boldness of the swirls and gems required a gradual cutting away of a vinyl resist. While creating this piece, details emerged which told a story unfamiliar to the artist. Despite having no background in Greek Mythology, the story of Ariadne revealed itself most mysteriously through the hands of the artist. The thread in her hands, the raging abstract storm, the stiff posture and youthful demeanor of the girl, and many, many other details all provided clues to her identity, unknown to the artist at the time of completion.
