This stunning and magnificent larger than life angel began as a glass carving initiated from a drawing, transferred to buttercut; a thin rubber material, which was placed over the glass panel. After the glass carving was completed, the artist did her first rubbing, stretching muslin over the glass, and coaxing the image to the front with graphite. Months of detailed pencil and ink work followed. Then, working from the back, she pressed pastels and chalk through the fabric to create subtle shading, color and highlights. This piece also inspired her first scroll which hangs dramatically at 7 ft high by 4 ft wide.
