Carved 1/2” Glass Panel with poured resins and mixed media with Mirror backing
Commissioned in 2018, this began as a portrait of one of the artist’s dear friends. The artist’s use of poured resins on both surfaces of the glass panel allowed for more vivid colors and a three dimensional effect. From the client’s love of gardening sprang lovely flowers, a silvery, mirrored, crystal like flow of water down the center, and sprites, dragonflies, frogs and butterflies came to life. To the artist, these life forms are essential to our planet, hence the name, Genesis.
