Catherine

DESCRIPTION

Drawn free hand with graphite on a roll of light diffusion material known as Duralar, Catherine is a warrior angel, striding confidently as reality bends and whips around her. One of only a few pieces drawn to be seen as a finished creation instead of as the first step in creating a glass carving, Catherine’s ethereal glow comes from the medium she was created on.

Duralar is tricky to draw on with graphite, however, because erasing is impossible. The original drawing is five feet tall by three feet wide. She is one of the most beloved images created by the artist.

Many of the techniques used in the creation of the original piece are incorporated into the artist’s unique reproductions. All reproductions are created by the artist and her team in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
