A warrior princess Mermaid from the islands off the coast of Spain, she contemplates a frog who clearly adores her. An untold fairy tale, perhaps? Carved into a 3/4” thick panel of beveled glass, the green color is the natural color of the glass when lit from the side. This creation represents the moment in the artist’s development where she broke from the confines of commission work for clients, and began making art, from her own heart, purely for its own sake. This piece is still evolving, with additional carving, canvas rubbings, and multiple renditions in reproductions. This image captures this glass mermaid in the form where it all began.

Ibiza lives with the artist in her Private Collection where she continues to evolve.

Many of the techniques used in the creation of the original piece are incorporated into the artist’s unique reproductions. All reproductions are created by the artist and her team in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
